Welcome to the Market Deeping Model Railway Club website.
Meeting nights are normally Mondays at 7:30 p.m. except after Bank Holidays when we meet on Tuesdays at the same time.
We currenly have no active club room but we do have Cyber Monday meetings on Zoom where members can drop in for a chat.
The Club was founded in 1976, the same year as Concorde first flew. We started out in Market Deeping, just north of Peterborough and retained that name when we moved in 2003 to a venue near Thurlby. We are currently planning a move to new premises.
We meet most Monday nights and with layouts in O, EM, OO and N, we cater for a wide range of interests in the hobby. From those who wish to run in their existing stock on our test track, to those who want to build layouts, kits, scratch build models for exhibition or just talk! If you have an interest in model railways then this is the ideal club for you - from complete beginner to expert. We have a number of layouts under construction. However, our main focus at present is in preparing for our change of premises and with that and the impact of the Corona virus, the main modelling focus is in members own homes.
We also organise at least one show every year, our main one is normally held in Stamford at Stamford Welland Academy to whom we are most grateful. Sadly, our show in 2019 was vandalised and in 2020 and 2021, cancelled due to the Covid 19 outbreak. Instead, we produced a Virtual Show in 2020 which can be viewed here or click the link.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWJDrvDhN_c
Dates proposed for our 2022 exhibiion are 14th and 15th May 2022.
We have great fun taking our layouts to exhibitions and if you join us, you can join in the fun too - a weekend away playing trains - what more could you ask for!
We also have our own show in Stamford, to the north of Peterborough in May each year and we are also closely involved with BRM's annual Peterborough National Festival of Railway Modelling.
Our very own library area within the test track. What better way to read while watching the trains go by. Donations to the growing library are always welcome.
Our occasional Newsletters are available for all to read, whether member or not. We do not publish on a regular basis but only when we feel we have something to say that would be of general interest.

Venue and Facilities
We have sadly been asked to vacate our current premises by our long term friend and landlord of many years. We are currently in the throes of finding a new venue and much of the old room, including our test track has been cleared in readiness. Add to that, the effects of the pandemic and you may appreciate that we are not able at present to hold meetings other than remotely. Plans for our new home are well in hand and will, we hope, be bigger and better than ever before. The timing of all this is of course open to conjecture but our best and possibly optimistic guess at present is Autumn 2021.
Annual adult membership is £40 and concessions are available for younger members.
We look forward to meeting you.
