"How to Build a Model Railway" book launched in Bourne

DSC 2303 2

Member David Ashwood (Dash), the author of our first book published by Pen & Sword, was at Bourne Bookshop on Friday, 2nd December, to sign copies of the book. Dash was accompaned by Barrie Church with one of his model railway layouts and Alan Hancock with a selection of his dioramas, and there was a great deal of interest from the shop's customers. The book is about the basics of model railway construction, starting with the baseboards and is an ideal introduction for those thinking of taking uup the hobby.

Pen and Sword had a stand at the Warley National exhibition at the NEC over the weekend and reported good sales which is really encouraging – all thanks to Dash’s untiring efforts and superb writing skills.

The Rutland & Stamfor Mercury reported the event here: https://www.stamfordmercury.co.uk/news/modellers-secure-four-book-deal-after-vandalism-setback-9289555/.

Back in May 2022  Alan Hancock took his layout Gila Canyon 1957 to Cotterstock Church for an exhibition called Exhibition of Childhood Memorabilia. Our then website man, Brian Norris offered to produce a video showcasing the layout and you can now see the result on YouTube. Click the picture below and please give the video a 'Like'.
